Tom Kat…What an ass..

In an article published found on yahoo news.. Brook shields lashes out at tom cruise.. It’s about time.. I say kudos to her.
She says..

“I’m going to take a wild guess and say that Mr. Cruise has never suffered from postpartum depression,” Shields wrote.

She added that Cruise’s comments “are a disservice to mothers everywhere. To suggest that I was wrong to take drugs to deal with my depression, and that instead I should have taken vitamins and exercised shows an utter lack of understanding about postpartum depression and childbirth in general.”

Shields said she considered swallowing a bottle of pills or jumping out the window at the lowest point of her depression following the birth of her daughter, Rowan Francis, in 2003. A doctor later attributed her feelings to a plunge in her estrogen and progesterone levels and prescribed the antidepressant Paxil.

“If any good can come of Mr. Cruise’s ridiculous rant, let’s hope that it gives much-needed attention to a serious disease,” she wrote.

Shields described her post-childbirth experiences in the book “Down Came the Rain: My Journey Through Postpartum Depression.”

I myself suffered horrible post partum depression. I think its a very serious issue that needs to be taken more seriously. I will have to go into details later.. Long day.. long weekend coming..

Tom Cruise speaking on a subject he doesn’t have a medical degree in is largely insulting to himself I think. He shows a serious lack of respect and worse… compassion and concern in the statements he’s made. Just my own opinion for what it’s worth.

Thank you for stopping by my sight today! Hope you have a good weekend.

Hope your back gets to feeling better, does sound like stress. I think school should be year round myself, it would be easier on everyone.

As far as Cruise goes, I think the dude is showing his true colors and it ain’t pretty.

Michele sent me.

Tom is on crack, but it would be interesting to shoot him up with varying degress of estrogen, wouldn’t it? I can’t believe he had the nerve to speak about anything of which he could never experience or even know of (his own wife never having kids herself, even).

I have suffered from depression and anxiety since my teens. My anxiety spun out of control post-partum, and I went on medication. Tom Cruise can get raped by a silverback gorilla, in my opinion. I was crippled by panic attacks, barely able to leave my house, and all the vitamins in the world wouldn’t change that. Kudos to Brooke Shields, she should have whooped Tommy’s sorry little ass.

I think Cruise is doing the ol’ Mid Life Crisis action. Sporting puppy dog smiles with his young gurlfriend, childish behaviour, etc.

Get a grip dude.

Why do some celebrities feel it’s their place to judge others for what they do and feel they have a right to do it in such a way? Oddly enough, Scientology was started by one of my ancestors. Fantastic, eh?

I think Tom’s little battle is stupid… He doesn’t deserve the attention.

However… it is the age old… which came first, the chicken or the egg?

I believe that he was correct in some ways, but has no right to say a thing… cause a women with this issue, may not have the energy to drag herself out of it… to try diet or exercise.

He should’ve kept his mouth shut.

Ivy - thank you for the words of encouragement on my “lifetime girlfriends” post. i have realized that a lot of us want friends but don’t have time, have lost touch, or too involved with their family (which is a ok) but, i am going to try and change my lifestyle and hopefully become part of that circle of friends.

as for tom cruise, i think he is pretty much a wash. he has know idea what its like to fight post-partum depression unless of course through science…he’s birthed a child.

i know what its like to fight depression on a daily basis. i have been on several anti-depressants and am currently taking two…hopefully this will keep me sane for the time being.

have a great fourth of july and a good work week.

Tom Cruise is a flippen cult following freak. He is the all knowing - didn’t everyone know that?? He should have just kept his mouth shut and showed off the pretty boy face, cause that is about all he had. Then he had to go an open his mouth and screw that up even.

I’m sick of celebrities thinking they have all the answers. You people ENTERTAIN for a living. ENTERTAIN. When I want to hear “expert” opinions on “real” issues, I will find people who know their ass from a hole in the ground and know what they’re talking about.
