And then there was fear
Posted by ivy | Under Ivy Unleashed Monday Jan 22, 2007Why didnt I make atleast one post last week? I missed Thursday 13.. Thats because a lil issued called,”Hubby gave me the fright of my life”.. Wed morning at about 6:27am (yeah thats what time the call was logged and im not likely to forget it anytime soon).. Hubby calls and says,”Ivy, I’ve been in a bad accident” I said,”are you okay?” He said,”No call 911″ and the phone went dead.. I called the sheriffs dept emergency line.. Its where ALL our 911 calls are routed anyway.. Gave the reason i was calling and was PUT ON HOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyhow gave the dispatcher the info I knew which wasnt much. Just a general location of where he was and what he said.. And waited for a dps officer to call me back with information.. 35 min and no one calls.. finally the phone rings and its Dh’s cousin.. They work together and he was with dh.. he said they were taking him by ambulance to the ER.. I found a sitter and left immediately.. As I walked in they said,”we just called your house to let you know your husband was here” i said well im not there am I..
Anyhow.. Long story s hort.. after hours of sitting in the ER.. waiting and waiting and waiting.. Hubby is okay.. Spraigned his back and neck.. but okay.. the truck.. the damage is more than its worth..
Here is what happened..
it was dark out..
18 wheeler blew dh off the road.. Into a car parked on the shoulder of the road.. He never saw the car.. When the 18 wheeler blew him off the road he tried to keep from going “off” the road and losing control.. he never saw the car on teh shoulder (which is illegal to have there!). He heard a boom while trying to regain control and started spinning.. Next thing he knows he wakes up in a fence.. He thought the 18 wheeler hit him.. He never saw the car.. It wasnt until the DPS officer told him he hit a parked car that he even knew there was another car involved.. He really fully believed the 18 wheeler hit him. The dps officer told him the boom he heard was either 1. him hitting the car or 2. his tire blowing upon impact.. Anyhow.. We only had liability insurance on the truck.. So.. The guys fence he went through will be fixed.. But not dh’s truck.. We cant afford the damages.. they cost more than we bought the truck for!
Update on Wyatt..
He had 4 month shots today.. he now weighs 12lbs and 9oz.. he is a happy healthy lil boy!..
Diva.. is doing really well in school.. her attitude is starting to get better.. she has been a big help with wyatt..
Sugar.. JEALOUS thats the main word i can come up with right now..
Bug… Not so well in school.. behavior sporatic.. He is so much like his daddy its unreal.. Only he has my sarcasm and we butt heads alot because of it..
me.. lets see.. Exhausted.. but doing okay.. birthday coming up soon.. scary!

Wow, that’s a heart attack waiting to happen for you. I’m sorry about the truck, but I’m glad your husband’s okay.
Oh, my that is SUPER scary! I am glad he is alright, but that really really sucks about the truck.
Whoa. I was scared FOR you there.
Take good care of that hubby. And be glad he was in a truck; if he had a tin can of a car, it might have been much worse.
I’m so glad he’s okay. How terrifying. It really does suck about the damages. I’ll be praying for you all!
And call me a complete airhead….I didn’t realize our babies were so close in age! Lydia was four months on the 21, and had her shots on the 22, as well!
That is SO SCARY! You’re amazing to be able to keep yourself together during all of that - AND with your four kids! I’m so amazed by you. I’m so glad your husband is okay (and I hope he starts feeling much better soon - ouch, that sounds incredibly painful), and you’re able to find a new vehicle right away!
