Bulging disc at L4 & L5
Posted by ivy | Under Family Crap Thursday Feb 22, 2007Hubby went and had a MRI done on tuesday due to back pain that wont stop since the wreck and tremors he is having when he lays down at night to go to sleep.. he is keepin gme up and himself.. both of us are exhausted.. Well the MRI which we had to pay cash for.. Showed he has a bulging disc at L4 & L5 and that his dr can’t treat it.. They can send him to a surgeon or an Ortho dr but neither we can afford.. and neither have payment plans.. So basically its a live with it type deal.. And live on pain meds i guess.. who knows.. He is still working. Its our only source of income so thats a must.. Grr..
I’m so sorry. My ex has a similar back problem, something that can’t really be treated (well, not without major surgery, and that’s really a last resort and not guaranteed to help). So he just lives his life until it gives out on him and knots him up in pain to where he can hardly move, gets pain pills and muscle relaxers, and waits for it to subside. I hope your husband can get some relief. Back pain is just a misery.
I’m sorry your husband has to deal with this. I’ve been pretty fortunate, health-wise, and cannot imagine having to live in constant pain.
I’m so sorry for your husband’s pain. Mine had the same thing between L4 and L5. but corrected by surgery. Too bad there is no insurance from the wreck to cover medical.
I hopr you can find a good pain specialist.

I had one for awhile, after #2 was born. It self-corrected, actually, once the pregnancy hormones left me.
I’d actually suggest massage, acupuncture, and finding a really good personal trainer. Build up the muscles and let them relieve some of the pressure.
Aw that is terrible! Back pain is the worst. And to have to deal with it without insurance is a pain in itself! I hope things get better soon.
