Ticket Burbia….

I got a ticket yesterday. I havent had a ticket in over 10 years. But I got one yesterday. And in the worst town of all.. one I call ticketburbia.. Its known for giving tickets.. See.. I ran a red light.. However in my defense it wasnt freaking red!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This this particular red light is in a school zone. Almost always its a flashing yellow light that you do not have to stop at except when the school zone lights are flashing. Well I go through this area very very very seldom and never when the lights are flashing and the red light working as a red light. Anyhow.. That is so the point give me a minute.
I checked and no school zone lights were blinking so I proceeded about my way doing my normal speed limit. After passing the light I get pulled over..
It went like this:
Officer: good afternoon..
me: Is it a school zone right now?
officer: no ma’am not at this time..
me puzzled unable to figure out why i was pulled over: then why was I pulled over
He says,”you ran that red light”
i said,”no sir i didnt.. it was blinking yellow”
he says nope it was yellow when you went through then turned red.. it was red and you ran it!
I had no idea it was red.. He could have wrote me a warning.. But he didnt. He wrote me a ticket. I never saw red. I saw yellow. I get to go dispute it with the judge on tuesday though I doubt that will help me any.. I can’t afford to pay the ticket and they are only giving me 30 days.. Like to know where i’m going to come up with 150 bucks in 30 days.. Its kinda hard when you live pay check to paycheck and hve 4 kids.

what a stupid cop for giving you a ticket! it’s ridiculous how many people run reds here and never get pulled over. you ran a yellow and shouldn’t get a ticket for that!
we got pulled over on sept 30 for my new plate not being on the car yet. my bday is in sept and pulling me over before sept is over is pretty stupid. we had the plate in the car and he didn’t ticket us, but still, what a tool.
What a stupid reason for a ticket! And there have been times I couldn’t pay my tickets either and just let them go. No one knows this, but I’ve been pulled over and arrested twice for it, and Mark had to bail me out! Good for you for going to the judge to fight it! Our town has cameras, and they’ll mail you a picture of you in your car with your license plate, in the middle of the intersection with the red light directly above you. Thank God I’ve never gotten one, but I’ve seen plenty of them from other people. They’re kind of funny because they’re such good pictures!

You might want to reschedule the court date, Ivy. Two reasons, one, the delay would allow you to pull the money together, and two, the cop that gave you the ticket needs to be there if you challenge it. By rescheduling the court date once or twice you’d probably shake him. That only matters if you challenge it, of course.
I tried to comment on this the first time I read it, Ivy, but kept getting an error message. Now too much time has passed for my message to have much meaning.
BUT! I just wanted to say! You have more than one reader, silly. And you have a HUGE fan in me!
